Setting Up Ticket Types

Ticket types let you offer different registration options for your event. This guide covers creating tickets, setting prices, and managing availability.

Planning Your Ticket Structure

Before creating tickets, consider your audience segments:

  • Will you offer early bird pricing?
  • Do you need different access levels?
  • Should there be group or team discounts?
  • Will you have free tickets for speakers or sponsors?

Step 1: Access Ticket Settings

From your event dashboard, go to "Registration" and select "Tickets". Click "Add Ticket Type" to create your first ticket.

Step 2: Create a Ticket Type

Enter the ticket details:

  • Ticket name (e.g., "General Admission", "VIP Pass", "Early Bird")
  • Description of what's included
  • Price (or free)
  • Quantity available

Write clear descriptions so attendees understand exactly what they're getting with each ticket type.

Step 3: Set Availability Windows

Control when tickets are available for purchase:

  • Start date and time
  • End date and time
  • Or select "Same as event registration dates"

Use availability windows for early bird pricing by setting an end date before your regular tickets become available.

Step 4: Configure Ticket Options

Additional settings for each ticket type:

  • Minimum and maximum per order
  • Visibility (public or hidden)
  • Access code requirement
  • Group pricing rules

Hidden tickets are useful for speaker comps, sponsor allocations, or special invitations.

Step 5: Add Promo Codes

Create discount codes for marketing campaigns:

  • Fixed amount or percentage discount
  • Usage limits per code
  • Applicable ticket types
  • Valid date range

Step 6: Set Up Access Codes

Access codes unlock hidden tickets or special pricing:

  • Generate unique codes for VIP guests
  • Create codes for partner organizations
  • Set usage limits and expiration dates

Managing Inventory

Monitor ticket sales from your dashboard:

  • View real-time sales numbers
  • Adjust quantities as needed
  • Transfer tickets between types
  • Process refunds and cancellations

Best Practices

Create urgency with limited early bird tickets.

Offer clear value differentiation between ticket tiers.

Set reasonable purchase limits to prevent scalping.

Test the checkout process with each ticket type.
